MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT -
As I begin my term as President of NSA
Virginia, I can't help but reflect upon how
much NSA has changed my life. While living
in Belgium, I read about an NSA "Winter
Workshop" through Toastmasters. It was in
Norfolk, my hometown, so I decided to
attend. At the end of the three days, I
called my husband and told him I needed to
move back to the States because there was so
much to learn, to do. I could get my
business on the fast track with NSA! "Find a
house," he said. I did, and we returned nine
months later.
That was more than six years ago, and NSA
did, indeed, enable me to put my business on
the fast track. At this writing, I'm No. Two
on Google (thanks, Tom Antion)! Some of the
speakers who will present to our chapter
have attributed to my success
(alphabetically): Tom Antion, Ron
Culbertson, Annette Dubrouillet, Sam Horn,
Mark LeBlanc, Dan Poynter, Jeanne Robertson
and Glenna Salsbury.
I guarantee that if you attend all the
meetings this year, your career can move
forward dramatically, too! Pro Track, our
10-month program for new speakers can
guarantee even faster success.
See you at the August meeting with our new
president, Mark LeBlanc.
Sandy

August 10, 2007 - meet Mark LeBlanc,
President of National Speakers
Association
.
Find out what you need to know and what
you need to do,
when it's up to YOU to make it all
work. Join us for this
special program with Mark LeBlanc, the
President of
the National Speakers Association.
Mark joined NSA in 1983, at the ripe old
age of 22, and is
now considered a seasoned veteran by
many, and one of the few
people that NSA professionals and
legends turn to, for business
advice and counsel.
He runs Small Business Success, and is
the Author of the little
book, Growing Your Business! and the
soon-to-be, released book,
Growing Your Business When YOU Are
The Business, later this year.
LeBlanc will share keen insights,
observations, and sound strategies
that will make or break your speaking
career. If you thought you
had it all together, and yet your
calendar isn't where you want it
to be, then this is your don't miss
meeting.
You will discover:
1. how to put more money in your
pocket,
2. how to position yourself for higher
fees,
3. how to create a marketing plan that
gets your booked, and
4. how to set up a system for staying
focused on a daily basis.
Mark will share several of his turning
points, as well as, some
of his painful mistakes. He is one
speaker you can listen to over
and over again, and keep learning new
things all the time.
He speaks to small business groups, and
professional associations
of all types, and is attracting the
attention of corporate sales
groups who want their people to think
more like a business owner,
than a salesperson. He is the creator
of the Achievers' Circle
weekend program, that is highly-regarded
as the anti-bootcamp
experience.

HOPE MILHALAP --
Just wanted to let you know that
my only news is that I'm leaving
in October to speak once again
on Crystal Cruise lines. It's a
lovely way to combine business
with pleasure-- you may not make
money but you get a free cruise
for yourself and another. I
don't know that Crystal is
looking for
too many
more speakers at this time (they
want mostly entertainment or
destination lecturers) but it's
well worth doing research on
other cruise lines, if you want
a lovely vacation at no
expense!! The audiences are
often mostly well-traveled older
couples
.
SUE CUNNINGHAM -
Susan Cunningham, CSA, and
President of Senior
Resources Group, Inc. based
in Virginia Beach, VA will
be speaking in Kentucky
for the October Toyota
sponsored event titled, "In
the Interest of Women."
Sue's topic is
"The
Sandwich Generation."
Sue is the author of the
book,
"Unwrapping the
Sandwich Generation."
Sue will be joining actress
Geena Davis.
