Bio: Th!nk, Believe, Achieve – Dr. Glenda Clare’s motto.
For more than 20 years, Glenda Clare, PhD, has worked on tough issues with hard to reach populations. Despite what others say, she still believes that the least among us can learn to th!nk, believe and achieve their goals. Her approach to prevention and treatment with hard to reach populations is rooted in professional experience as well as personal experience growing up in the South Bronx of New York City.
It’s not easy to save the world! Dr. Clare understands the challenge faced by many Community Caregiver who provide direct care to families in crisis. She founded the Fragile Families Network (FFN), a membership organization created to assist and support those who work directly with families. . She is committed to providing Community Caregivers with the support they need to be successful on the job and in their personal lives.
Dr. Glenda Clare has a wide range of interests from container gardening to white water rafting and zip lining. From speaking at large gathering to enjoying a quiet conversation with friends. Dr. Clare has facilitated training for health and human service professionals, nationwide. She has worked within communities of faith, community-based organizations, neighborhood associations, the criminal justice/juvenile justice system, the mental and public health systems and local, state and national government.
Finally, she is the author of Don’t Adopt that Child: Things Grandparents and Other Relatives Need to Know Before Assuming Custody and 8 Steps to Abundant Living, a professional’s guide to working with fragile families. Both titles are scheduled for publication and release in 2010.
