Description:  Coleen is a Master's-prepared Adult Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping others provide the best possible care for aging parents, patients and friends. She uses her twenty years of geriatric experience to speak to professional and family caregivers, nurses, physicians, and Aging Citizens themselves about topics including Dementia, Safe Medication Prescribing, Pain Management, and Late Life Decision Making. Bio:   Coleen received her Bachelor's in Nursing from the University of Virginia and her Master's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since 1997, Coleen has worked as a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with the VCU Internal Medicine/Geriatrics Department with a focus on the frail elderly in long term care facilities. Serving as an adjunct Professor at the VCU Schools of Nursing and Medicine, Coleen teaches in the classroom and at the bedside. Coleen is an active member of the Virginia Storyteller's Association and the Virginia and DC chapters of the National Speakers Association, and she brings a wealth of expertise and energetic speaking skills to her presentations.
